AlphaExplore continues on from the original Alpha series into Middle, Upper Middle and Upper Primary (Levels 22-30).
It offers
a multifaceted approach to guided reading and writing across science and humanities curriculum topics.
These are organised
into three strands: The Nature of the World; Relationships, Roles and Responsibilities and; Change and Continuity.
All the books
are written so that the concepts remain accurate but are made relevant, comprehensible and interesting to middle primary students.
The student books are carefully graded and were trialled by reading recovery tutors.
Thirty-six non-fiction books
feature recount, report, explanation, procedure, discussion and argument text types, plus high quality illustrations and stunning
photography.

proformas and outlines simple 3-step procedures for assessing both reading and writing. It also contains “Planning the next step”,
which includes specific activities for those learners who are experiencing difficulty with some aspect of their reading and writing
development.
